It includes a Doctors Consultation, Postural Assessment, Review of X-rays/MRI (if any) and one Treatment. (Eg. Chiropractic Adjustment, Decompression Therapy or etc)
A chiropractic adjustment is a high velocity, low amplitude force applied by hand to an area of the spine to improve joint function which ultimately reduces pain.
Generally treatments needed are dependent on a few factors. We take into consideration your goals of treatment, shot and long term measures as well as severity of the existing condition. For example, someone with general neck aches will require lesser treatments than someone with a neck disc herniation cases.
No, we do not hardsell any types of treatment plans. We have many patients on a pay per visit basis as that is what works best for them. The decision for care plans are essentially up to you and available as an option if you require.
Our clinic definitely works towards a long term solution for our patients. We incorporate take home exercises to strengthen necessary postural musculature, review work space ergonomics and lifestyle activities. What you do outside of the clinic is just as if not more important than inside the clinic.
Both professions share similarities. Chiropractic treatments generally focus more on structures and function whereas Physiotherapy focuses more on muscles and mobility.
This is one of the most common concerns of new patients who step into our clinic. The sound may be scary to some, addictive to others but either way adjustments do not hurt at all.
This is case by case dependent, we see a number of issues that don’t require X Ray but at the same time a lot do as well. If we suspect any large spinal shifts such as a scoliosis then X rays are necessary, if we see peripheral cases such as shoulders and knees then they might not be.
Research has shown Chiropractic care to be effective against a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Statistics in Australia have indicated that patients who sought Chiropractors as their primary physician saw a reduction in medication and hospitalisations in regards to conditions related to the musculoskeletal system.
If you’re not quite feeling yourself or have been experiencing discomfort in certain areas of your body then you should see a Chiropractor. Pain is generally a way the body communicates to you that a problem exists. When more concerning symptoms such as pulling/ numbness/ tingling arise then you should get that checked as soon as possible as these symptoms are more severe in nature.
Yes this is a very common problem we see at the clinic. Hunching increases unnecessary joint stress which increases the rate of wear and tear in our spine and joints. Results are much better iif detected and treated in the earlier stages.
To a degree no, just think back when you were 20 and young, you could sit however you want for however long you want without a problem. As we get older we generally undergo some wear and tear in the spine which reduces the tensile strength of our low back cartilage, over time this creates problems in a progressive manner.
Numbness can only be created by nerve stress/compression. Numbness in the hands and legs can be caused by spinal nerve compression i.e the low back/ neck or peripheral nerve compression, this would be from obstruction or tightening of the muscles in the arms and legs. Best to get that checked before it gets worse.
It satisfies us to see our patients return to better health. Let us help you relieve your pain and live the life you want!
