Problems We Solve at Live Well Chiropractic

If any of the conditions below match what you’re dealing with, book a first visit. Your chiropractor will identify the structural cause and explain what’s driving it.

Stiffness that starts in the morning and builds through a desk day. Tightness that runs into the shoulder or base of the skull. Usually postural and treatable once the X-ray confirms the cause.

The most common condition we treat. Pain that flares when you sit too long, bend, or carry weight. In many cases the disc or joint causing it shows clearly on X-ray

Recurring headaches that panadol masks but doesn’t stop. Many originate from the cervical spine. Tension and misalignment at the top of the neck, not the head itself.

Pain when lifting your arm, reaching overhead, or sleeping on one side. Most patients assume the shoulder joint is the problem. The cause usually sits higher up.

Curved spine identified at a school screening or adult check-up. Your chiropractor assesses degree of curvature, progression risk, and whether a treatment plan suits your age and build.

Sharp pain, numbness, or weakness that runs into the arm or leg. A slipped disc compresses the nerve root. Where the symptom appears tells us which level is affected.

Tingling or numbness in the hands, fingers, or feet. Usually a compression issue at the spine or surrounding joints.

Pain climbing stairs, squatting, or after a run. Often traced back to hip or ankle mechanics feeding into the knee, not the joint itself.

Pelvic and lower back discomfort during pregnancy. Your chiropractor uses pregnancy-safe techniques and sees expectant mothers from first trimester through to delivery.

Lower back from lifting, shoulder strain from overhead training, knee pain from running volume. Treatment focuses on load management and return to training, not rest alone.

Who We Treat at Our Sengkang Clinic

Four patient groups walk through this clinic regularly. If you’re one of them, the conditions you’re managing are ones Dr. Truong and Dr. Lim see and treat every week.

Residents commuting to Seletar Aerospace Park and the CBD

A slipped disc doesn’t always announce itself with an accident. Dr. Kenney Truong’s own started as a nagging strain that built for months before a doctor told him surgery was the only fix, and that history shapes how he reads a new patient’s stiff back today. Most patients from this group commute out of Sengkang daily: the North East Line into the CBD, LRT and bus into Seletar Aerospace Park, or across to the Punggol Digital District. Hours at a desk plus the commute compound the load on the spine.

Sitting through a commute and then a workday keeps the lumbar spine in flexion for most of the waking day, and that sustained load is what wears down a disc over time, not a single bad lift. Painkillers and rest address the flare-up, not the mechanical cause underneath it.

Dr. Truong confirms the affected level on X-ray and builds a plan around the patient’s actual commute and work hours, not a generic template. Evening slots run until 9pm every weekday.

Parents at Sengkang schools with scoliosis-flagged children

A scoliosis flag from a school screening means a curvature was measured. It doesn’t mean treatment is automatically required. Every primary and secondary school in Singapore, including Nan Chiau Primary and Compassvale Primary here in Sengkang, runs the Health Promotion Board’s annual scoliosis check as part of standard school health screening, and a flagged result comes home with more questions than answers.

Dr. Truong is Chiropractic Biophysics and Scoliosis certified and sees flagged children and teenagers for post-screening assessments, walking both parent and child through the curvature’s degree, progression risk, and whether a treatment plan fits the child’s age and build.

Families managing chronic pain across generations

Being told surgery was the only option for a parent’s back pain is what brought Dr. Jessie Lim into chiropractic in the first place. Her own father was diagnosed with lumbar spondylosis and a slipped disc after a doctor said surgery was his only path, and driving or walking for any real length of time had already cost him badminton, his favourite sport.

A course of chiropractic care and decompression therapy restored his ability to do both, and that recovery is what Dr. Lim now looks for in the seniors and multi-generation households she treats across Sengkang’s HDB estates: not just pain relief, but getting back the specific daily activity the pain took away.

Dr. Lim adjusts technique for older patients and screens for the fractures, advanced osteoporosis, and vascular conditions that rule out adjustment before recommending a plan.

Active residents training at Sengkang Riverside Park

Load management, not rest, resolves most sports injuries walking into this clinic. Sengkang Riverside Park and its Park Connector Network routes draw runners and cyclists along the Punggol River daily, and lower back strain from lifting, knee pain from mileage, and shoulder strain from overhead training are what show up most from this group.

Dr. Truong and Dr. Lim both work with patients who don’t want to stop training, building a load-management plan alongside treatment rather than defaulting to rest.

Patient Case Study

Wahidah has recently given birth and suffers from numbness down the right leg and lower back pain. We identified that the issue was due to nerve compression at L5/S1 and implemented Decompression Therapy apart of her treatment. Decompression Therapy will help to alleviate Wahidah’s nerve tension by creating a vacuum pressure to the disc affected.

Dr. Kenney Truong

Chiropractor (Sengkang)

A slipped disc brought Dr. Kenney Truong to chiropractic. Doctors recommended surgery after his injury. He tried other therapies, found chiropractic instead, and made a full recovery. He is Chiropractic Biophysics and Scoliosis certified, with 13 years of experience across two of Singapore’s leading chiropractic groups, spanning CBD offices, new estates, and the heartlands.

He earned a Medical Science degree at the University of Technology Sydney, then completed a Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University. Australian-born Chinese, Dr. Truong moved to Singapore in 2014. He is fluent in Cantonese and English.

Chiropractor (Sengkang)

Doctors told Dr. Jessie Lim’s father that surgery was his only option for chronic lower back pain. The pain had already cost him driving comfort, long walks, and badminton. A friend introduced him to chiropractic instead. Adjustments and decompression therapy traced the cause to spondylosis and a slipped disc at the lumbar spine, and he recovered enough to resume his daily activities.

Watching that recovery convinced Dr. Lim to become a chiropractor herself. She trained at Murdoch University in Perth, practiced in Australia for seven years, and returned to Singapore in 2018. Singaporean and fluent in Mandarin and English, she works in diversified technique, extremity adjusting, flexion distraction technique, drop piece, trigger point therapy, and active release technique. She also trained in dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation, and kinesiology taping.

What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Treatment at Live Well Chiropractic

First visits take about 20 to 30 minutes. Here’s what that time covers.

Consultation and History Taking

Your chiropractor goes through your medical history, current symptoms, and what you’re hoping to achieve. If you’ve had X-rays or scans taken elsewhere in the last six months, bring them along.

Postural Assessment and Physical Examination

We run a digital postural scan and a physical examination to identify where misalignment or structural issues are present. This gives us an objective picture of your spine before any treatment begins, not just a description of where it hurts.

First Adjustment

If the examination confirms it’s safe to proceed, you receive your first chiropractic adjustment in the same visit. You don’t need a second appointment before treatment starts.

X-Ray Review and Treatment Plan

On your second visit, your chiropractor walks you through your X-ray findings in plain language, confirms your diagnosis, and outlines a recovery plan matched to your actual condition and goals. No generic protocols.

Why Patients Choose
Live Well Chiropractic

We find the cause, not just where it hurts. Your chiropractor reviews your X-rays with you, explains the findings in plain language, and builds a treatment plan around why the pain keeps returning. If you’ve spent months getting generic advice and no real answers, this tends to feel different.

We treat patients who still want to train. Athletes and regular gym-goers make up a large part of our patient base. Our chiropractors understand load, movement patterns, and return-to-sport timelines. You won’t be told to stop training and come back in four weeks.

We see the whole family. Our chiropractors treat patients from teenagers through to seniors. If a school scoliosis screening flagged your child, or you need care for yourself and your teenager in the same clinic, you don’t need separate referrals or separate clinics.

You get treated on your first visit. If your assessment confirms it’s safe to proceed, your adjustment happens in the same session. No waiting for a second appointment before anything starts.

Four clinics across Singapore. Livewell operates in Sengkang, Bedok, Potong Pasir and Toa Payoh. If your schedule changes or you need a different location, you switch clinics without starting your case history over.

Chiropractic Pricing at Our Sengkang Clinic

Your first visit is $68. That covers a full doctor’s consultation, postural assessment, and your first treatment in one session. No separate booking required.

Single sessions after the first trial are $100 ala-carte. For patients who need regular care, treatment plans run $65 to $85 per session with no expiry date. Family plans are shareable among household members.

For the full breakdown of session rates, combination plans, and payment options, see chiropractor price singapore.

Chiropractic care is not Medisave or MediShield Life claimable. Some private plans, including personal accident and complementary health riders, do cover it. The chiropractic insurance Singapore guide shows which ones and how to file.

Frequently Asked Questions

For the vast majority of patients, yes. Contraindications do exist, including certain fractures, advanced osteoporosis, and specific vascular conditions. Your assessment screens for these before any treatment begins, and your chiropractor refers out if chiropractic isn't appropriate for your situation.

The $68 first trial covers a doctor's consultation, postural assessment, and one treatment. Your chiropractor selects between a chiropractic adjustment or spinal decompression therapy based on your assessment findings. If you've had recent X-rays or an MRI, they review those in the same session.

There's no universal answer. Some patients with acute pain improve in three to five sessions. Chronic conditions or structural issues like scoliosis typically take longer. Your chiropractor will give you a specific estimate at your second visit, after reviewing your X-rays.

Your chiropractor applies a controlled, targeted force to the joint identified as the cause on your X-ray. Most patients describe it as pressure, not pain, with some mild soreness in the 24 hours after, similar to post-exercise fatigue.

Yes. Neck and shoulder pain from desk work is one of the most common presentations at this clinic, treated by confirming which cervical joint is compressed rather than just releasing the surface muscle.

Inform us when booking. Post-surgical cases can often still be treated, but your chiropractor needs to review your surgical history and imaging before proceeding.

Chiropractic care is not Medisave or MediShield Life claimable. Some integrated shield plans and corporate health benefits do include it. Check your policy documents or ask your HR team; we issue receipts with the appropriate procedure codes for chiropractic insurance claims.

No referral required. Book directly online or via WhatsApp.

In many cases, yes. Dr. Truong made a full recovery from his own slipped disc through chiropractic care after being told surgery was his only option, and treats patients with the same diagnosis regularly.

Not every case is the same. Your assessment confirms whether it's appropriate for you.

Yes. Dr. Lim has direct experience with spondylosis through her own father's diagnosis and treats the condition by managing progression and restoring function rather than expecting to reverse existing wear.

Yes. Dr. Truong is Chiropractic Biophysics and Scoliosis certified and sees children and teenagers flagged at school screenings, including at Nan Chiau Primary and Compassvale Primary, for post-screening assessments.
